“Excellent choice for the view and the food. Great atmosphere. The seafood was abundant and delicious, definitely more seafood on my pasta than I was expecting, but being from Missouri, we don't get fresh or abundant seafood no matter which restaurant you go to, so it was an extra nice change for me. It was nice to not have to figure out parking or pay and walk, they validate the ticket for the parking lot. Absolutely recommend!”

“Very clean hotel, friendly staff, and great amenities! The rooms are well sized and they have options for connecting rooms which helps when you have a large family. They have packages that include tickets to Moody Gardens or daily breakfast. Definitely plan to have the breakfast buffet on the weekends, complete with cooked to order omelets, Belgian waffles, and everything in between. They even have custom pancake artists!”

“We went for breakfast while we stayed on Crystal beach. It was a Friendly place. Barbra, our waitress, was great. The hostess was nice too. Quiet and relaxing for the morning. Clean bathrooms. Good basic breakfast food. Generous portions. Great prices.”

“This is a little hidden gem of a place. Authentic Mexican Food! Great taste, great price, and great service! The plating and presentation of the food is fantastic. The only reason it didn't get a 5 star is the temprature of the ambience... Such a small detail... It is, however, of great importance when providing an experience that excels above others!!!”

“My husband wanted to introduce me to one of his old hang-outs when he lived here - he parks close to a small building/house with no windows - are you kidding me? Folks, the best food I've had in Texas of the American fare, cool/old fashion decor (which often is better than modern), nice staff. Instead of complaining at the onset, next time I'll simply follow hubby! Highly recommend”

“Had the best meal here with incredible people running the place. They gave us little samples on top of our order and are a diamond in the rough of Galveston food wise! Chef Myers is lovely and adds real soul to the place”

“This is a typical tourist trap with a great location. The building itself is attractive, well themed and positioned nicely for views of the Pleasure Pier and the Gulf itself - depending on your table location. There is a nice upstairs patio that affords wonderful views. The food is decent, but not great. About what you would expect from a tourist oriented location on the water. The drinks were priced well with average for a waterfront location. They were average in quality. The service leaves some or maybe more to be desired. It is what it is for what it is.”

“Well, I'm going with the cost vs. the product/service/atmosphere is about a 3 out of 5. Don't get me wrong, good average. I definitely come here again if someone else was paying, but 80+ dollars for 6 lbs of Crawfish and a shrimp and fish with fries and 3 beers, order at the counter, and even with a view of the gulf, seemed a bit steep.”

“As a Landry's Member, they gave us one of the best views in the house of the beach! The Gumbo is good, but don't expect a NOLA gumbo since this isn't NOLA, as I was asked by another patron. We had the huge Shrimp plates and my son said the buffalo wings were awesome! Service was great! We had a blast!”

“Sunday brunch is great. Food is great and lots of selections. High quality. Great service. This is a staple on the island. Very well known as a great experience. Price is same as quality meal at many other restaurants. Pace yourself, with so many selections you can end up suffering later... haha. Never had a problem getting a table except during holiday meals like thanksgiving and Christmas. I believe it ends at 2 pm. Usually best to go about 11 am. Highest quality of food.”

“Expensive parking, tight beach, overall the best you can get in the area. I recommend you drive 30 more miles then you'll find free beach which you can drive on it just before the bridge to the island. You can also enjoy the parking by the beach so you have to pay $15 entrance at the gate which is 5 min away. I recommend that you don't miss out walking on the pier . You can enjoy the beautiful sunsets at the pier.”

“Went during restaurant week on Galveston Island. It was a great opportunity to try different items served at the Saltgrass. It is very beneficial to purchase the corporate Landry’s reward card. Great deals and rewards involved with all their other properties. Had the lunch special. Salad was ice cold. I enjoyed a salad for the first time ever. The steak had wonderful flavor!!!!!”

“This place is very busy and for good reason. The food is delicious. Lots of different food items on the menu. My wife had the shrimp and grits and she loved it. Chicken fried steak was a huge meal and very good too. You may have to wait a while for a seat on the weekends but well worth it.”

“While I have only been in Galveston for less than 24 hours. The Mosquito Cafe lived up to its hype. From the time we walked in we were greeted with open arms as if we’ve been friends for years. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The food is amazing. I had the corned beef hash tacos with a side of eggs. From the first to the last bite you could taste every bit of flavor. Everything was cooked to perfection. Highly recommended this fine establishment.”

“Amazing food and great atmosphere! However, our waiter was extremely disappointing. Our waiter, Julian, was consistently in a hurry- he walked past us at least 5 times (with the menus stacked at the end of the table) before taking our order. It was a busy night; however, he acted like we were inconveniencing him every time we spoke. I asked for recommendations first for dinner- he said it “depended on personal preference”- okay, then when I asked again about the desserts he essentially told me to stop asking about the menu saying that I “should know” what I like. It was our first time at that restaurant- we told him that! I have never been spoken so rudely to by a waiter, especially not for asking such a basic question! It was a early dinner for my birthday- unfortunately tainted by Julian. Would have given this restaurant five stars, if it were not for the rudeness and haste of our waiter.”

“Inspite I got a crispy chicken sandwich with meal. I did get an under cooked crispy chicken patty . It was raw. It wasn't entirely the fault of the kitchen cooks. It was a rather good size piece. But because it was, it did require extra time cooking. The manager was very Apologetic and quickly prioritized my satisfaction and promptly fixed me up. I use to work for McDonald's growing up in my younger teen years. I know how frustrating it can get when simplicity fails. It happens. No I didn't get sick or anything outrageous. I appreciate the quick response and sincerity about your customers.”

“Subway is Subway. If you've been to one and like that kind of thing, you'd like this place. Was clean and we'll kept. Hubs got a cold cut (something something I don't know) and the kiddo and I got the tuna. Many noms were had. Discovered the tot liked honey mustard.”
