“There's some pretty good food here. It's definitely more mainstream Mexican - nothing is particularly spicy, flavors tend to be more subtle and harmonious. Also, everything I've sampled so far has been freshly made, including the corn tortillas and all the salsas. The street tacos are pretty tasty as well, and I heartily recommend the cabeza (cows head), it's super tender and beefy. With excellent sweet tea and good service, it's a winner.”

“As fans of The Standard Social Market, we had high hopes for a Mexican food concept of the same caliber. Del Chuco fell a bit short, unfortunately. The restaurant itself is upscale urban. Exposed brick and graffiti walls bring texture and personality. There is ample seating and a nice bar up front. These are all good things. During my visit, both service and food were average. Upon being seated, a server introduced herself and said she’d be taking care of us but that was the last time we saw her because then a second server took over. No problem there, just a little different. When the second server took our order, she specifically asked if we’d like the two appetizers to come out before the entree and we confirmed that we would appreciate that. As requested, the two appetizers were delivered first. Unfortunately, the entree was not far behind. I think it came out three or four minutes later, well before we’d even tried both appetizers. So that was a miss for sure. We ordered the queso fundido and papas tacos to start. Both dishes looked good, but lacked flavor (something some salty cotija might have improved significantly). For an entree, we tried the chicken verde enchiladas. This, it seems, is where the kitchen is heavy-handed with the salt shaker. These enchiladas were way over salted, to that point where your tongue starts to pucker and sting a little. None of this was helped by the temperature of the food served; both the potato tacos and enchiladas (including accompanying rice and beans) were served barely warm. It was a major bummer! Another minor problem was that the server, upon delivering our entree well before we were ready for it, made no attempt to actually rearrange dishes in the table in order to creat a space for the entree. Rather, she stood there expectantly, interrupting any enjoyment we may have had with the first couple of bites of our appetizers. Our experience wasn’t necessarily bad, but based on food and service, Del Chuco certainly won’t be a frequent choice for us. It’s a bummer because I wanted so badly to find another go-to spot for date nights!”

“First visit. Order a philly sandwich only, that cost 7.99 paid 9.10. Card fee was quoted before they realized I will be using a card. And taxes is 10% but charged .83 in taxes. Got to the windows to see why order was more than it should be. Young lady let the other ladies know to make sure to let people know if you are using a card it will be an additional fee. Now the food, philly would have been good if it wasn't salty. I just struck out tonight. Haven't eaten all day to go somewhere you have not tried before is on me.”

“Enjoyed the food, my waitresses was really nice and the place looked amazing as well as the outside seemed like it would be great for family when it's not raining. The sushi here is a little more expensive than some other places. My only complaint is a personal one and has nothing to do with the actual restaurant, and that is that the menu is different from the downtown location. There are some real gems on the menu missing and I was excited thinking they would be a closer copy of the same menu, but things like the chicken tacos or even a salmon roll are no where to be seen. Again, that is just a personal thing, but I added it just in case it might help others.”

The service is otherwise good but could use a little more patience from servers re: dining payment. (Presenting the bill and then 15 seconds later coming back to the table to grab it, only to find it's not ready, and then coming back *again* in 15 secs...; we're not going anywhere, just give us a bit to let the food settle, finish up a conversation please.) Again, delicious cuisine but, honestly, I'm not sure if the offerings are very unique or uniquely prepared to warrant a visit if you're on the other side of the city. (There are so many wonderful options around town.) If in the area though, a solid selection for your Indian food fix.”

“Love this place. First time going. My husband got the bagel with lox and said it made him feel like he was at a deli in New York City-fantastic! I got a toasted plain bagel. I had already reviewed the menu so I knew they didn’t have peanut butter and I brought my own Jif to Go. The bagel was excellent. My husband got a drip coffee and said it was good. I got the Cuban coffee and it was amazing, just as good as Cuban Coffee Queen in Key West. Friendly staff. We had no problem parking on a side street. We’ll be back next time we’re in Foley or Gulf Shores!!”

“My friend wanted curried goat, and we decided to give this food truck a chance. The service wasn't the best. Confusing that you have to pay inside at the grocery store, then walk back out to give your order and ticket without any instructions to do so. The wait was so long. The food didn't disappoint, thankfully. I had the brownfish with cabbage and plantains. My friend had curried goat with rice and peas and plantains.”

“We were there for the grand opening! We arrived at 7:45am, and there was a line of people already waiting outside. But the line moved fast as soon as the doors were opened promptly at 8am. 😊 We were welcomed by the manager and crew, and they gave us free coupons strung on lanyards, t-shirts and clappers. We were inside the store by 8:05am. Sat outside for breakfast and enjoyed the music from the DJ and the nice weather. We had bagels, croissants, and hash browns, with free iced coffees because it’s the grand opening. We also had donuts, cheesecakes, pineapple upside down cake and salad to go. 😋 I’m glad Fairhope finally has a convenience store that’s open 24 hours. 🦉”

“This is actually Greer's, Conwell's Pharmacy, a liquor store, and a Shell station. I don't buy gas here because it's always more expensive than my usual station. But I shop at Greer's for certain things and love Frank at Conwell's. Employees are friendly and know all of us locals. The prices are higher here than anywhere else, but the meat selections are great.”
