“We had an excellent meal! We tried the walleye and it was prepared perfectly. Huge portion of thick, mild, flaky walleye. The new owner greeted us. He has made great improvements, including new big screen tvs, a beautiful salad and soup bar, new wait staff, and revamped menu items. The specials have been great and reasonably priced for a family. It has a relaxed, casual atmosphere and they are very accommodating. Our service was excellent. Way to go Northside Family Restaurant. Looking forward to our next visit!”

“I love the co=op! I have been a member here for a couple years and love the atmosphere, ethics, and quality of the food. It is a bit on the pricier side and I imagine if you have kids it might be out of budget, but for a single person it's perfectly fine! There's a bit of an elephant-in-the-room situation at the East co-op with the panhandling that occurs at the exits. I'm very sympathetic to these folks and will usually give them whatever change I have, but since covid sometimes don't have any. There's one person in particular who can get a big aggressive. The last time I visited the co op this person approached me asking for cash, I apologized and said I had to go. I think by my voice they realized I'm transgender, and proceeded to start yelling slurs and me and following me and harassing me for some time. I know they're just trying to get by, but I don't feel comfortable coming visiting anymore :( another friend of mine has also been harassed. There's not really a good solution, which sucks, because I miss the espresso brownies like mad. If you don't come on foot I imagine it's easier to avoid!”

Our second order included the fish fry special. “Shake Shack is good! I love their burgers. When i went here in Madison I got the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich at the 'hot' level of spice. The sandwich was super tasty and the slaw on top made it really good, only down side was that the sandwich was small and dry as there was no sauce. I asked for a side of the herb mayo that comes on the regular chicken sandwich and put it on my hot sandwich and WOW it made a huge difference. Sad that the sandwich is quite small for the price. I also got the cheese fries and those were amazing and the cookies and cream shake which was great as well. Excited for Shake Shack Madison to fully expand their menu in the future!”

“My husband and I enjoyed tasty dumplings and appetizers in FEAST's lovely outdoor space. We started with the pickled cucumbers, which were spicy and very good. We shared a plate of the chef-recommended pan-fried dumplings for the main course - yum! It was too hot for hot tea, so we ordered a rose and an iced tea. FEAST is a great neighborhood spot. We hope to come back while the weather cooperates for patio-dining, but we really look forward to visiting in the winter when we can enjoy hot tea and warm dumplings in their beautifully renovated indoor space. The service was also excellent!”

“To my amazement, when I walked in, this Starbucks looked exactly like the last 15 Starbucks I visited. It even had a group of people at a table chatting over coffee! There was a college student with a laptop and commuters rushing in and out to get a caffeine rush before they had to face their dreaded co-workers. There was even an old man reading a newspaper. I waited patiently for my drink while fumbling with my phone. They called my name when my drink was ready and I walked out the door without making eye contact with anyone. I wonder what my next Starbucks experience will be like?”
