“Was looking for a mid-late breakfast when passing through Geneva on business, so I parked the Jeep in a parking lot and went onto google to find something to bite on. A few steps away was “Captains Cafe.” Waking in was underwhelming in appearance, but it was clean. Right when I walked in, I was promptly greeted and shown a few tables that were available. Coffee was offered first, which was unimpressive but not uncommon so not an issue. Was given enough time to look over the menu until I made my choice, and then I patiently waited. Food arrives, and I’m immediately impressed by its presentation… the edible flower made me happy inside! The dish was awesome, though I will say the hash brown was rather plain. Either way, I’d recommend this establishment; I’ll be back again at some point to hopefully be impressed again.”

“Very good New York bagels right on main street. I wish the inside was a little nicer but it still hits the spot. The Hobo sandwich on a roll is a hearty, savory morning experience to try! The tofu cream cheese is notably good! There is also a small local provisions area inside. Bagels will come wrapped in paper, then paper foil, and in a plastic bag if you get more than 2”

“Excellent service, the Crêpe options are great, we tried the bacon egg and cheese and the strawberry cheesecake. We also had the tropical “smoothie” but it was more of a milkshake than a smoothie. The winner of our visit was the blueberry scone.”

“Love this place! This was my 2nd time here. Maybe one of these times I'll try the ice cream, but I had a breakfast sandwich before, and today a panini 🙂 The people are super friendly, and service is quick! And the food.... well it doesn't get much better than this!!!”

“Karen's Cafe is an amazing spot! You won't be disappointed. I went with my family and we fell in love with the place. All of our food was delicious. It tasted like home cooked, feel good, comfort food! Karen made us feel so welcomed and comfortable in her cafe. This will be a tradition of ours to stop in and eat for years to come! So happy we found her cafe we wish the business the best of luck and success!”

“Coffee is on the weaker side (had the house blend, claimed to be medium roast). Large coffee was >$4.50, quality of flavor does not live up to cost. Didn't try espresso--only served in paper cups, so quality and bitterness are clearly not a concern for server. Cute shop, interesting statue out front. I might return for books, but not for the coffee. UPDATE: I appreciate responsive service and went back based upon owners comment below and tried the espresso. (I paid for, so as to not skew my review) Espresso does not pop like freshly roasted beans, more of a solid Italian feel. It is good espresso and I may return for another before leaving town. I'll update my rating from 3 stars to 4 based on the good espresso and excellent customer service.”

“We were in the area and stopped in to check out Deer Run Winery. Super friendly staff and a nice selection of wines to sample. They have a pavilion up front for weddings and special events. There is also newer cafe and gift shop. The dry reisling and rose were our favorites. Their reds were above average for the region. All grapes are from the property or local area. Family owned and definitely worth a stop!”

“The freshest coffee this side of the Hudson! Merchandise attractively organized and displayed. Refrigerators cold and clean. A bulletin board displays local notices. Bathroom maintained well. There is an automatic teller machine, booth seating inside, and two picnic tables al fresco. Friendly staff. All gas pumps in working order. Easy ingress/egress to the intersection.”

“Our friends recommended us the Marie Blachere location in Manhattan and we visited the Great Neck location on our way to Garden City. The decor is wide-spaced and cozy with a lot of indoor & outdoor seating. The environment and ambiance is perfect as a place for breakfast or afternoon tea. Their pastry & bread options were various and we had 4 different pastries: Almond Croissant, Sugar Brioche, Blueberry Scone & Cinnamon roll. The pastries were overall not memorable and the price was kind of high with its portion in our opinions. Our favorite was the Sugar Brioche, which is soft & puffy but the delicacy of its texture wasn’t comparable with our other go-to bakeries.”

“Had a great time at Plum Bottom Campground. It is located within close proximity to many New York state forests that I hunted grouse in. I was so happy to find a place still open the last week of October. I took a walk around the grounds with my dogs and saw this beautiful pond that I am including a picture of. Thanks Mike!”

“My husband and I were visiting the area and decided to pop in for coffee. No parking lot but we were lucky to get a spot right out front. The counter and tables were pretty full but there was no wait because they seem super efficient. I tried the maple latte and my husband had 1 of their teas. They were tasty, the prices were reasonable and the baristas were friendly. Will definitely go back if I’m in the area again!”

Great menu and customer service and pretty presentation :) also there’s plenty of seating which is nice. The owner was so sweet, and really passionate about using quality ingredients. Wishing the best to Cha Dao! And we will be regulars!!”
