“This Starbucks is awesome! From eco-friendly cups and straws, to multi-function sinks and water saving restrooms, this location has the environment AND it's customers in mind. We will definitely be stopping by this Starbucks again on our way through Asheville in the future.”

“This place is awesome! Great drinks and wine list and delicious noshes, the house made sausage is out of this world! Food and service was all superb, and they have a great market as well with curated items for your grocery shopping! Highly recommend this place to everyone!”

“While visiting Black Mountain find your way to something of a epicurean adventure. The setting of the establishment has not only flavor profiles of mixed South African fusion but vibes and decor to match. From farmers markets on the weekends to eclectic dishes from the owners homeland the atmosphere is welcoming. As a new business such as this they are trying in earnest to find their rhythm in the kitchen and out on the bustling restaurant floor. The food is worth the wait and the friendliness and warmth from staff and owner are evident. Swing by and relax at the bar with a well crafted cocktail or brews as your table becomes available. You’ll be happy you’d stopped by. ***Group favorites include the spicy lamb curry, and Bush Burgers. Cheers!!!”

“Got nuggets for the kid. They looked better than any nuggets I have ever seen. And I have seen many a nugget. Tried one. It actually tasted real. Real delicious. A pleasant surprise.”

“Food and service were both excellent. We stuck to the small plates and had 6 of them. What I really liked about the dishes is that they are complex, with lots of different flavor combinations. They are all unique, and I think reasonably priced for what you get. The service was great as well, we like how they paced everything. Would definitely return.”

“Fun ambience, and quality ingredients for sure. Lamb stew was delicious, otherwise the croissant madame and French dip were slightly lacking. We had hoped for a bit flavor given the price and that those were the two top recommendations of our waiter. The food came out a bit lukewarm, which may have affected the taste. Also, if you’re sitting on the patio, bring sunscreen. We weren’t offered an umbrella and left with sunburns.”

“Friendly staff, truly amazing delicious crepes. Crepes are perfect consistency and not soggy from fruits. Will be coming back for more crepes! Would have given 5 stars but docked 1 star for style and lack of enforcement of social distancing policies. The place has a fast food joint feel but would have had that extra little spark if it had a French bistro feel instead. Though it is classified as a “French restaurant” according to Google, nothing about it feels that way.”

“Everything I’ve ever ordered here has been amazing. Not to mention there is no upcharge for gluten free buns on their burgers! I’ve never seen that anywhere else. Very large inside (and accommodating when everywhere else is an hour plus wait). The beef n barley soup tastes like it was homemade in a hobbit house. And the fried pickles come in spear form. 10/10 would recommend.”

“What a wonderful, unexpected treat and surprise. My wife and I were visiting from Ohio and planned to eat at another cafe up the street, but a nice lady noticed our dog, ended up chatting with us, and suggested we try Stony Hill. We did and we were so glad we did. She introduced us to the owners, made recommendations, and then we ordered. We ate outside because of our dog. Yet, the owner took so good care of not only us, he came out with a bowl of water for Jasper(our dog) and then came out with a piece of bacon for her. What a nice gesture! Our food was so delicious. My wife and I shared the breakfast sandwich and the egg and grits breakfast bowl. Hands down one of the best eggs and grits dish we ever had! We would highly recommend this new gem of a bistro!”

“Amazing food, service, and atmosphere! First time here and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our server was attentive despite the large surge of people that flooded the restaurant, and compared to the amount of customers, our wait time for the food was relatively short. Chai Pani is better than any other Indian food I’ve ever tasted! Super flavorful and spiced to perfection.”

“We loved the ambiance here as we ate upstairs for Sunday brunch. Quiet and quaint. Menu had great options. Pickled Mary was AMAZING if you are a Bloody Mary fan. Those homemade pickles are amazing. Loved the open face ham and cheddar melt. Steak and eggs was well loved, as well as the banana French toast.”

“We had an excellent meal here. This restaurant was recommended to us by some of staff at the Hotel and we are glad we made the trip. The staff at this restaurant is great. They made is feel welcome as soon as we walked in. Our server explained everything on the menu so well that we didn't have any questions. The meal was 5 courses and we had our choice of Entrees. The rest of the meal was set. You can see the menu online as it changes consistently with the availability of different ingredients. The trout entree I had was one of the best pieces of fish I had eaten in a while. The courses are spaced accordingly and we never felt rushed. We were definitely full after the meal ended. The cocktails were delicious as well. I highly recommended this restaurant.”

“Such a hidden gem! Unique, fresh, and delicious. The poke doke bowl and spring rolls were amazing! Always a plus as well when the staff is super sweet and friendly. A must try!”

“We really enjoyed our dinner here. The sun was still up, but they had sheer shades that blocked enough of the sun to make to comfortable. I had the Lavender gin drink, which was so tasty! And for all you vegetarians, the "veggie" burger is the Impossible Burger, which was really good. I was a little surprised that it didn't come with any side fries or vegetables. The atmosphere is fun and loud, and overall we really enjoyed it.”

“Was excited to try this place after reading some recent reviews. Everything was just average at this price point. I will admit my expectations for a 40-50 dollar steak are quite high. So many better options in the area for a top tier meal. I feel like I can buy a steak at Harris Teeter and create a similar product.”

“Great service! We were there for 2 min the waitress brought us water and menus. Within 20 min we had our food and drinks. They were packed because they had live music but the wait staff stayed on top of everything. The food was great all of it including the coleslaw and tartar sauce made from scratch. Far far far better than there competition Charlotte Street Grill and Pub.”

“I like their food other than the desserts. The staff are courteous and helpful. Their food isn’t preferable for my tastes as someone who is used to eating meat so the meat substitutes are a bit odd texture wise for me. But all my vegetarian and vegan friends rave over it! And as someone who is allergic to milk, I love the dairy alternatives. The only reason why it has four stars is because of a not so perfect cheese cake I had there once and an incorrect order. But otherwise, it’s great! Plus if you want a drink and some Irish food afterwards for later, you can just head down the stairs and boom! You’re there. It’s a really neat shortcut and I think it’s super unique.”

“Ever since Bugermeisters on Haywood rd closed down years ago I've been looking for a good burger place. I got to say, this place does not disappoint. I love the Carolina burger, the fries are great, service is fast and friendly and they keep the place clean. Best of all, everytime I've been here they've never got my order wrong.”

“The ambiance and atmosphere was perfect! My boyfriend got a seafood/pasta dish since they recommend seafood and it looked amazing! I got a gnocchi vegetarian dish and was not impressed with the ratatouille it included as it was bland but otherwise was very fresh! The atmosphere and vibes were my favorite part!”

“Great lunch! We arrived on Sunday around 12 and were sat right away. It was cloudy when we sat down but the sun quickly popped out and it got warm. The wait staff was super friendly and opened the umbrella for us. Chicken and waffles were some of the BEST I’ve had! And we’ve tried multiple places downtown. My husband said his burger was good too. Quick and friendly service. Great atmosphere on the patio. Will come back next time we’re in town! If I had one complaint it would be the mojito. The leaves were large and kept clogging my straw but the taste was fine.”

“Excellent chicken with a nice char to the rub. The rub itself is also quite flavorful. Flatbread was also a nice addition to the meal. The only weak link were the potatoes, which were somewhat bland & underwhelming. Nonetheless, the chicken is worth a try & makes me wish a location was closer to Winston-Salem.”
