“Burger and fries very good, free burger for my dog. Salad with grilled chicken okay. French onion soup good. Service good. Food served quickly. Not crowded like a lot of Bar Harbor restaurants appear to be. Reasonable prices and nice atmosphere.”

“Cute little bakery walking distance to Deal Harbor. Probably the best breakfast we had on out trip! Blueberry Monte Cristo!”

“We made reservations for 4. Our guests got there before us not knowingly, however the host sat is at a table that was set for two and small for only two. Then we notice that our other guests were already there (why didn't the waiter mention 2 others already came in for the same name, could they be with you? Instead of just sitting us at a table for 2). Really strange. The "lazy lobster" was very small portion for the amount of money paid, and not a lot of flavor. Honestly didn't even seem like there was a whole lobster in the dish. The waitress we had, Becky, was really great. She definitely made the visit pleasant. We do recommend the blueberry pie for desert, this was phenomenal.”

“The food was amazing but the service wasn't very good. We had to wait for a hostess to seat us, it took a while to get our food and then we had to wait to get our bill.”

“Having a decent server can make/brake a restaurant meal. If you go, ask for another server than Michelle. She was inattentive & acted like we were a major inconvenience to her time away from her friends at the bar & her cell phone. Food is good. Appetizers run $8-40, burger $15 & up, entrees $30 & up. Baked seafood pletter had plenty of seafood along with potatoes & asparagus. Aside from the lousy service, a nice place to go for a meal & a drink.”

“Good service and menu is average in it's offering. Pretty much same as every other place but really good service, excellent clam chowder and fried scallops.❤️????”

“What a great place to eat!!! Hayley and Timmy were the perfect hosts. Catered well for my daughter's food allergies with a genuine concern and helpfulness. The portions were great and the quality excellent. Lovely fresh ingredients. No hesitation in recommending!”

“Adorable place to eat. We had great food and good service. They won’t seat incomplete parties (understood), and parking was crazy for us. Recommend to go early to avoid the wait. Popovers are a MUST. Shepherd’s Pie was amazing.”

“The food and service were good. The prices were a little higher than I expected but the restaurant is in a scenic location with good views from almost every table. It was busy the night we went but we still did not have to wait for a table. We were seated quickly and the server came over immediately. We had to park in a lot across the road which is pretty busy. Since we arrived at dusk, I was a little concerned that oncoming traffic could see us as we crossed the road especially because there is no traffic light to aid crossing”

“Super fresh, nice variety of menu items, wicked clean restaurant. Popped in for an early dinner and was so thrilled at how great my food was! Staff was kind and local which was nice because so many Bar Harbor employees are seasonal.”

“Not only absolutely amazing food, a truly wonderful staff. Definitely something I will remember for years to come. Also people do yourself a favor and get the lobster and mussels!”

“Delicious meals and very friendly staff. Service was good too. We ate there two nights in a row. The first night my husband had the lobster with clam chowder and dessert (blueberry pie) and I had the scampi and scallops. The second night we both had the lobster with mashed pumpkin and rice.. and blueberry pie. Andy served us the first night and Paula the second. Paula makes the desserts and her blueberry pie is the best we have tasted. Great cheery service from the ladies who greeted us at the door to the wait staff!”

“Ribs, pulled pork, baked beans and coleslaw really good as was the cornbread. Nice portions, priced really reasonable for this area. Not a fancy or romantic place.. But good eats.. And BBQ done well.”

“What a surprise this was. The food is exceptional! Unbelievable...The service amazing. It is like a "high end" restaurant in a simple package. One would never know what lies within, which is why I felt it was important to write a review.”

“This place was wonderful! Great breakfast the server was so friendly and they let me buy the super cute tic-tac-toe board off of the table for my son!! 5 stars isn’t enough!”

“Great spot to stop and eat. Super dog friendly. The ugly blueberry pie was out of this world. The lobster roll and lobster grilled cheese are great. It was raining when we stopped here and we sat under the covered outdoor area without getting wet. They have a fire place by the tables that keeps the area warm. Definitely a must go when in the area.”

“My wife and I have gone to the tan turtle a few times, and we've mainly had really positive experiences. However, the last time we went (end of August, party of 22), we did run into some issues. Food was great, but the service was a little lacking when it came time to get our checks. It took close to an hour to get our bills, as the server was having issues dealing with separate checks. My recommendation is to have multiple servers handle a table of that size next time, as that would make it a bit more manageable, I think. Still, they have great food, atmosphere, and prices. Don't hesitate to check it out!”

“Great ambience, water views, restraint had very tasty food, the original pop over, and excellent service. Make this a stop when visiting Bar harbor. Like Jordon pond with out the crowds and better food and ambience. Parking can be a little tricky but there is plenty to the right of the main drive or across the street in the gardens which is another great stop. @AdventureKrewe tip: spring and fall are best times to avoid crowds but this small quaint inn will be an oasis. Give them a try and let us know what you thought.”

“This is a neat historical Hotel/Restaurant. We went here for an anniversary dinner while we were in Maine. The food was great the view was awesome, and the food was fantastic. I would definitely go back.”

“I am not a pizza lover but this place change my mind! Fresh toppings and fresh dough. The food was so good here we ate two nights in a row. Their in House bakery was to die for and we brought pastries back to the hotel for a morning treat.”

“This place is a hidden gem! From the front it looks like this tiny little bakery & deli, but go inside!!!!! The food is fantastic, the people were great and it was a really cool place. Everything we ate was fantastic, the service was great, the waiter was super friendly. Definitely try the Seafood Pizza it was 100% amazing! Don't miss it if your in Northeast Harbor.”

“Great service and food. Highly recommend the bear sandwich (grilled blueberry bread, honey, cheddar, apples, and blueberry) great vegetarian option! Probably one of the favorite foods I had on my trip. The staff was very friendly and the place has cool vibes and the food was really good. Overall great experience, highly recommend. Ignore the negative reviews, they sound like they’re from stuffy rich people.”

“Stopped by for a quick lunch and was delighted to see their menu offered soups that were not chowder or bisque. (Can get a little tired of seafood around here) Had a lovely lamb stew soup with pretzel bread croutons. My husband had a delicious big chunk of bread pudding with maple syrup. Recommend a stopping here for lunch.”

“We’ve been visiting Abel’s since the late 1970s, and had dinner there on Wednesday night. What can I say? The view is fantastic. Advice: sit outside if it’s not too chilly or rainy, and make a reservation — you’ll get a table closer to the water’s edge. The food is as good as ever. We had steamers and lobster dinners. Somehow the seafood at Abel’s is sweeter and better than other lobster pounds in the area. Delicious is an understatement. And their blueberry pie was excellent. Service was great (a bit slow due to their being short-handed, but we actually liked the slower pace). We’ll definitely return (again and again!).”

“This place was wonderful! Everything here was delicious. Right next to a winery, so it was gorgeous nearby. Plus, they have a fire pit out back where you can sip cider (alcoholic or not) and get dessert. I loved this place and would definitely go back!”

“Visited this restaurant when I visited Maine and had such a good experience both in regards to the staff and the food that I returned a second time. They served me the best burger I have ever had (grass fed) and also have a good beer and whiskey selection. If you’re in the area I highly recommend this place regardless if you have to drive out of the way. It was the best food I had in the state of Maine.”

“Beals lobster is by far the best Taste and service I’ve ever had at a seafood restaurant. You can pick your lobster at the front and they can recommend a size if you don’t know what you want. They also have other things besides lobster, like haddock, clams, and muscles. The lobster was perfect, and so was the experience!”

“In the summer time, they serve tapas and cocktails at the Boathouse. It’s a beautiful location serving delicious drinks and food. So, if you’re in the mood for drinks and a light dinner, this is your place.”
Address: 22 Claremont Rd, Southwest Harbor, ME 04679, USA
“The Claremont suited me perfectly. A lovely room with a magnificent view, and peaceful grounds. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, and the on-site restaurant and bar are excellent. It's a historic building, so keep that in mind, but for me, it was the most relaxing place I've stayed in decades!”

“Very unique South American Cuisine in a very eclectic atmosphere. You may find this restaurant hard to find as it is tucked away in one of the rural areas of South West Harbor. only negative is that it is a little pricey but that's what you have to expect in tourist town Mount Desert Island”
