We tried the steak, chicken, al pastor, chorizo, and pork. My favorite was the steak gordita combo but my fiance liked the chorizo sopes combo. But all were fantastic. My son got the chilaquiles (steak and eggs). We loved the variety of drinks and it was a nice to bonus to shop in the store while we waited for our food. Would recommend. Much better than the Mexican places in town. Very authentic!”

HT's Sand Bar & Bistro

Address: 4950 S Peninsula Dr, Ponce Inlet, FL 32127, USA

Restaurant

“The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. They answered all of our questions and made recommendations. The bloody Mary was very flavorful. Started with the clam chowder was creamy, not gritty, perfection. Also had the chicken and sausage gumbo. This was perfectly seasoned with just enough spice to not make it overbearing. The shrimp and grits was just okay. The presentation was great. Would not order again. The cod was fresh, flaky and fried perfect. The tartar sauce was delicious and complimented the cod well. However, the cod was delicious even without it. Also ordered the cheesy crab meatloaf on a bed of creamy Mac n cheese with lobster sauce drizzled on top. Everything about this was great. I couldn't taste the crab, but everything was very flavorful and probably the best Mac n cheese I've ever had. The chicken tacos were seasoned well and chopped, it had a nice sear. The prices were decent. I would highly recommend this place.”

Deleon's Bar & Grille

Address: 5115 Hwy 17, De Leon Springs, FL 32130, USA

Restaurant

“It doesn't take long for word to get around when there's a new kid in town, especially when the town is DeLeon Springs. And the word on newly opened DeLeon's Bar & Grille is very, very good. A group of us dropped by for lunch after a friend raved about its fresh fish sandwich. We were unprepared for the sophisticated menu, reasonable prices and creative cuisine. I mean, where else in Florida, much less the DeLand area, will you find authentic poutine? This rendition of the beloved Northern treat is Old Bay-and-crab infused, giving it a Florida Cracker flavor not even a Yankee could refuse. Other starters include oysters Rockefeller, conch and Key West "pinkies," some of the tenderest, most succulent shrimp you'll ever wrap your lips around. Promise. For more traditional tastes, there are wings prepared in a variety of sauces, including Buffalo, cilantro-lime and something called Carolina Gold, which I can't wait to try. On my first, but definitely not last visit, I took a chance on the oyster Po Boy. Having spent considerable time in New Orleans, I am a Po Boy expert. The French Quarter's got nothing on chef-owner Jim and his assistant Kyle. The shellfish were fried to perfection without overwhelming the delicate taste sensation that is the oyster's hallmark. The generous portion came complete with remoulade, that famed Creole sauce made of mayo, spices, horseradish and hot sauce. Or, if you're like me -- a traditional tartar fan -- you can request that too. Preparing an oyster properly is no small feat, since almost everyone loves seafood, but so few know how to cook it. There is a tendency toward overkill, but not at DeLeon's. My friend's fish sandwich (choice of fresh mahi-mahi, halibut or red snapper -- grilled, fried or blackened) was wow! My other friend had a tough time deciding between the lobster roll or Key West pink roll. Choosing the latter, brimming with shrimp, she wasn’t disappointed. Sandwiches come with crispy lettuce, tomatoes, onions, etc., as well as a choice of fries or Tater tots AND hush puppies. We were all in on the tip-top tots. Normally, I’m not a day drinker, but who can take on a Po Boy without an ice cold brew? For $6, I got more than I bargained for: a giant, Michelob ULTRA on tap that was as refreshing as the water at nearby DeLeon Springs State Park. Sorry to go on and on, but this new spot is a hidden treasure that must be shared. To wrap things up -- in paper, recyclable take-out containers, no less -- we all had more than enough lunch left for a second meal. Other menu highlights include an intriguing lineup of burgers, a Lobster Pot seafood casserole, crabmeat stuffed fish and Philly cheesesteak. DeLeon's offers a Ladies Night special every Sunday, 5-9 p.m. when the girls get half off their entire check. Hours are 11a-11p daily, closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays The atmosphere is dark and loungy and those gorgeous wooden booths in the dining area were also handmade by Chef Jim. Our wait staff, Stephanie, was quick and friendly, but just as importantly makes a mean Margarita. Despite all the construction on Highway 17, little DeLeon Springs boasts several wonderful restaurants, all of them serving Mexican fare... except DeLeon's, which specializes in seafood, if you didn't pick up on that. Once the roadwork is done, I'm predicting DeLeon's becomes a highlight in a new Volusia County restaurant row.”

Old Sugar Mill Pancake House

Address: 601 Ponce Deleon Blvd, De Leon Springs, FL 32130, USA

“I don’t understand some of the negative reviews. We loved it! Our server was amazing and the pancake mix was perfect. It was so much fun making the pancakes. We got chocolate chips and peanut butter as toppings! The restaurant feels rely rustic and cool. We will definitely be back!”

Starbucks

Address: 3727 E Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL 34470, USA

Cafe Restaurant

“I recently visited this Starbucks location and had an exceptionally pleasant experience. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the cleanliness of the place. The staff was not only friendly but also incredibly hard-working, ensuring that the store maintained a pristine appearance throughout my visit. One thing that stood out was how diligently the staff kept the place clean. They were constantly wiping down tables, ensuring that every customer could enjoy a spotless seating area. I also noticed them deep cleaning the area where drinks are made, which gave me extra confidence in the hygiene standards of the store. The staff were always on top of restocking items, making sure that everything from the napkin dispensers to the coffee condiments was fully stocked and readily available. This level of attentiveness made my visit smooth and hassle-free. The atmosphere at this Starbucks was wonderful. The music was played at a perfect volume, providing a pleasant background without being overwhelming. This created a calm and inviting environment where I could relax and enjoy my drink. Additionally, the seating was comfortable and the layout of the store was well thought out, allowing for both socializing and quiet moments of solitude. The overall vibe was warm and welcoming, which made my time there even more enjoyable. Overall, this Starbucks location exceeded my expectations. The combination of friendly, hard-working staff, a clean and well-maintained environment, and a pleasant atmosphere made for a great experience. I would highly recommend this Starbucks to anyone looking for a relaxing spot to enjoy their favorite coffee or tea.”

Barry’s jerk delight

Address: 3711 E Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL 34470, USA

Restaurant

“Ordered the Jerk Pork, it was cooked perfectly and delicious. But then I tried some of it with that Jerk Sauce... it was very sour. I'm pretty sure it had gone bad. I also ordered the fried chicken but they didn't have it and instead sent Jerk chicken. It was awful. Just very dry and flavorless. I'll order again next time I'm in the mood for Jerk Pork, I'll give them major credit for that but they need to tighten up on that jerk sauce and jerk chicken.”

The Waffle Shop

Address: 2507 County Rd 200A, Ocala, FL 34470, USA

Restaurant

“My girlfriend is always in search of *THE* chicken & waffles, so when we heard about a new waffle place opening up right down the street from us, we were ready to go right then. We messaged them on FB asking when the grand opening was, they were quick to respond, even sent us the exact date a few days later after they figured it out for sure. Beyond the great customer service, the food was just what we needed. To say the least, I think my girlfriend found her chicken & waffles spot. The waffles are huge, the tenders were big & juicy, the sandwich was perfect, & everyone inside this establishment made everything all the better. If you’re wondering if it’s worth it, the easy answer is yes”

“We have been going to wolfies for Quite some time now they have changed hands. And it's been okay, but lately, things have changed. The food is not up to standards at all. Chicken's very dry coleslaw is old tasting green beans. I don't know Definitely out of a can. I think they were terrible. It's gonna be a while before I go back. I am just tired of these restaurants charging. What they charge and the quality is just not there. Everybody says shop and eat locally.”
