Wife had the blackened cod basket with the fresh cut fries… amazing. The rest menu looks great and we can’t wait to try everything! “Great atmosphere, we stopped in while traveling. The ladies are so friendly and have great personalities. They take pride in their job. In talking with the women, we discovered that Ed just took over ownership about 5 months ago and already renovating and cleaning it up a bunch. Parking lot is gravel with some dips, but they have approval to improve the parking lot to make it more accessible to bikers. I had grilled ham & cheese, the ham was thick cut that they grilled before putting on the sandwich. He had country fried steak which was home cooked. We sat on the patio and relaxed under a willow tree on a pond, great relaxing atmosphere!”

“We've been ordering delivery from Big John's almost every week for years. Lately there have been many orders that were delivered and something was always writing. Like ordering two mozzarella/prosciutto sandwiches and getting both of them without mozzarella, then waiting another hour for them to deliver us new ones with mozzarella. Or choosing blue cheese dressing for our salad but having balsamic delivery instead. Or not getting the salad at all even though it's on the order. We still love Big John's but something is definitely going on lately.”

“Went there for the lunch today and we're happy customers! Food was good and flavorful. I ordered a 14in pepperoni pizza and a calzone with pepperoni, ham and sausage. Everything could've used more toppings but it was good nonetheless. They are a new business so give them time to speed up their processes. The wait was long so if you're pressed for time order online as I think they have online ordering. Good spot I'll definitely hit it again in a few weeks to see if they make improvements.”

“I'll start with the good! The food was AH-MAH-ZING 😋! My husband had Chicken and Waffles with a side of eggs and I had shrimp and Grits! The atmosphere was everything with very nice decor😊. The not so good... When we first arrived at 11:57am for our 12pm reservation, we were told they did not open for another 3 minutes and had to wait outside?? For what?? DONT HAVE 12 PM reservations available then. It was all of 3 minutes, but I digress... then, we find there's a cover charge for him, $10 👎🏾. Mind you, we were only there for brunch. THEN, everything on the menu was not available (oxtails, lobster, or French toast) 👎🏾. Our waitress was nice! So since we paid, we did venture to the back... a whole other GOODT vibe 🤗. We got more drinks and hookah for an overall good experience😊! Our bartender was nice!”

“We finally made it to Big Chicken. The area had a big power outage, and we went on the search for fried chicken for our son who got out of school early. Thankfully, Big Chicken had power, and we were able to enjoy a nice lunch. Grace was our server, and she was amazing. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us. The food was excellent. My son loves his chicken, and he said this place had the best tenders in town. Plus, all the dipping sauses were awesome as well. I chose to try a milk shake, and it truly was the best milkshake I have had. Definitely recommend. My husband enjoyed a classic chicken sandwich and fries, and of course, it was perfect. We all enjoyed the fries. We can't wait to go again.”

“We had to try this out as a new pizza spot in town. We ordered the Italian sub, Meat Pizza and Cheese Pizza. The pizzas come with lots of cheese and the crust was perfectly cooked. Sauce was a bit light, but I am not so upset about it. They are working out the glitches still, but they are doing it with smiles and courtesy. Glad to have another option in our small town, now I have a new place to get pizza from for now on.”

“We typically come in to town 3 times a year and stay for about a week each time. We were looking forward to something new/different in the area. We decided to go there for dinner after our 6 hour drive. We knew it was at the old Honey Hole location. Entrance was a little confusing as you had to go through the covered front porch area to get inside the main restaurant. We were seated quickly as they weren’t busy. They brought us chips and salsa. My husband saw the note on the menu about the first two baskets of chips being free and then anything after that is $5 a basket. I do somewhat understand this could be to deter waste as well as to deter people from coming in to just sit and each free chips and salsa, but my family of 5 eats a lot of chips and salsa and two baskets didn’t do much but we did not want to pay $5 for another basket. Prices were comparable to others back home. Some things seemed cheaper but they were also smaller. Our favorite Mexican restaurant back home has a huge bowl of cheese dip for $9 and their cheese dip is $6 but for a pretty small dish. Small side of sour cream was $2.. mom got nachos with shrimp instead of beef or chicken and they said it would be an upcharge.. that ended up being almost $7 for the upcharge on top of the already $14 nachos so it was like getting charged for the nachos as if they still came with one of the other meats PLUS the added shrimp. Then the shrimp nachos came and there was no cheese dip like on the other nachos so my mom had to end up getting another $6 cheese dip to put in them.. Food was pretty good. Meats were seasoned well. Glad for the addition to the area and hope they can stay busy. They may want to rethink some of their business model (the $5 for the extra baskets of chips, etc) we would probably come again just bc we like Mexican food and it’s close.”
