“We visited here as we'd heard positive things, and I had been craving a good fried fish. We started with the White Cheddar Cheese Curds. These may very well been the best we'd had. Lightly breaded, with a nice gooey cheese in the center. She had the JJ's burger; with it and the appetizer at happy hour prices were an incredible value. Sweet potato waffle fries were a delicious surprise. The fried walleye was a massive piece of fish. The breading is a bit thick, but very flavorful. Steak fries, coleslaw, hush puppies and a tasty tartar sauce really made the meal complete. All were great. We treated ourselves to a "desert flight" which were all quite excellent. Staff were very friendly, and Rick (owner) made sure we had all we needed. He shared a great story of how the name of the tavern and grill came to be, so be sure to ask him about it when you visit! Excellent food and deserts - highly recommend!!”

“This was a new place for us, and it did not disappoint. We went for lunch, and there were almost no people here at the time. I got the grinder with fries and my wife ordered a small pizza (half off on Fridays). The pizza was good, with plenty of toppings and cheese. The grinder uses a milder sausage than I had expected, but it was tasty and they definitely didn't skimp on the cheese (I had to use a napkin to pick it up soy hands didn't get all cheesy; not a bad thing). The fries were also very good, and I'm pretty picky about fries as far as both taste, and firmness. The meal was also a very good price, especially with the half off deal. Service was good, the people nice as well. Overall, definitely recommend giving this place a try, as it seems like a great place. They even have a limited kids menu, and there was a child here when we went, so they are family friendly at least during the day/dinner time. Update: We took the kids here to eat over the weekend as well. They liked the food, and we tried different items. I highly recommend their chicken parmesan sandwich, as it was extremely good.”

“Tried this little small business for brunch this morning and we were very impressed. I highly recommend the farmers eggs with a little hot sauce, I added mushroom and jalapeno and they didn't even add any cost to my meal for it. Our waitress was handling a room full of customers with grace and efficiency. Coffee was good, the biscuits and gravy my husband ordered was good. We were shocked at how economical our little date out was at the end. We can't wait to go back!”

“Fantastic experience. We overwhelmed them with a holiday party and over 60 people and they ROCKED! Super nice and just kept pumping out the food. Venue had plenty of room and extra entertainment. They are a great family and will welcome you in. I also have to mention the Host, Squeaky, who continually made the rounds making sure everyone had a good time.”

“What a lovely addition to Winterset. We didn't make reservations, but we were able to sit at the bar. Heather was very attentive and made conversation. I had the blueberry bash martini it was really good. We also had the crab ragoon dip, yum is all I can say. For our meals, we had salmon with lemon dill and lemon garlic green beans and chicken with Brussels & rice. All in all I would say it was a great experience and the food was really good not too much but not too little. Oh, and I can't forget the carrot cake & chocolate cupcake! 😋”

“The hard cherry cider was excellent, & my husband said his beer was excellent as well. We ordered cheese curds for an appetizer, pizza for dinner. It was phenomenal, and the servings were beyond generous. It was our first visit there together. We'll definitely return. We'll done guys!! Returned for another visit, & had wonderful food again. Top notch!”

“Unfortunately me and my wife didn't care for the sandwich. Bread was hard on the outside and the sandwich didn't have very much flavor. People were very nice and service was good. As for the cost for the large sandwich we had, was around the $18 mark. It was better than subway but not as good as a caseys sub when they used to make them. Just another sub place in our opinions. They need to figure out how to stand out more so they don't end up a glorified Subway.”

“Delicious Thai food! I got the red curry with egg rolls and pork dumplings. All were excellently prepared and very flavorful. So lucky to have great Thai curry with fresh veggies and real basil in town. They are still cash or Venmo only.”

“1) Their homemade bread is deliciously flaky and fresh, perfectly balanced with the veggies and choices. I really like their home made sauce - I want to try their soup and bread dish, too 2) After sharing that it was our first time in, they explained the menu options and what was recommended- I got the #3 pork belly and #17 Vietnamese coffee. Sandwich toppings were separate so I could add-on (good if folks are new to Banh mi and want to customize toppings), and the fresh pickled veggies balanced the bread and meat perfectly. The Vietnamese coffee was deliciously strong. 3) atmosphere was open, clean, quiet, and relaxing on a Sunday afternoon - it seems like a great lunch pickup option during the week. I'm so glad I came, and look forward to trying more of the menu.”

“The first time we were here, right after it opened, the food was top notch. Tonight is was just okay. Everything needed salt to start with. We got salt and it helped, a little. Two of the dishes had pork shoulder and it was very bland. The burger could have used some seasoning as well. The mac and cheese barely had flavor, didn't even taste much like cheese. The server was on top of it. It wasn't too busy, but he was great. I also like how the servers all help each other. We don't feel like we need to run back here real soon after the meal we had tonight. Everything looked great, but was just meh in flavor. Except for the Mediterranean salad, that didn't disappoint. The atmosphere is great, a really fun place. Hopefully the cook who doesn't know what salt is learns about it real soon.”

“I couldn’t speak more highly of this establishment then it’s reputation already precedes. Stopped in with my son for a quick protein shake, ordered and stepped back to look around and was greeted by Brent (owner). It felt as if I already knew him. He’s what I consider an A+ kind of guy! Not only does he makes great smoothies with his company he offered advice and support! True class act all around.”

“Great place for food and pickle ball. I don’t play pickleball. The fried cheese and chicken tenders are awesome! The breading is thin, slightly crispy and tasty! Chicken tenders are very meaty unlike Red Robin where theirs is 60% breading. Nice atmosphere during lunch and not too noisy. Probably loud at dinner time is my guess. We will be back!”

“Favorite, fun Mexican restaurant in town! The food is amazing, fun menu, great happy hour, margaritas, and customer service is friendly! The menu and ambiance has all the cat themes you could ask for! This is also a restaurant that is part of the Infinity Loop Challenge! So fun.”

“I was invited here for my friend's birthday party. We had a large group and they were very accommodating. Our server was quick and attentive - even for how large our group was and the constant beverage replenishment was superb. Food came out hot and fresh and id have to say so delicious and great portion sizes. I had the quesabirria tacos and added jalapenos to them - they were loaded with protein and were the tastiest I've had in town so far!”

“Ordered the gyro and a mega supreme and I would definitely be ordering again. The gyro had the taziki sauce on it. I would put this sauce on any one of their pizzas, it was that good. The lamp was cooked perfectly and the pizza crust had an unbelievably great taste. The supreme was ok, cooked very well and great toppings choice. Decided to try the boneless buffalo wings and I think I'd pass on them. Very soggy skin but they were cooked well enough. For desert we got a apple cinnamon stromboli. It looks delicious but it's inedible. The dough isn't even cooked. Will order again but not the wings or stromboli.”

“This place is delicious. Chips and salsa were really good! Not your typical tomato-y salsa. My husband and I both had Mexican steak tacos that were absolutely delicious. In fact, we had each only ordered 1 and ordered more! I also had a chicken tamale which was delicious! My husband also ordered the supreme nachos and they were good. They were loaded! My only recommendation is to use queso instead of cheese sauce. One of my kiddos had the kids quesadilla with fries. He said the quesadilla was good but the fries needed salt. My other kiddo had 2 American ground beef tacos and he said they were great. Highly recommend this place. We will be back!”

“I love this place, prices are better than anywhere in town and the food is very surprising and delicious for being inside of the local biker bar. They clearly put a lot of thought and effort into their revamping and it shows. Highly recommend getting food here. Staff is always friendly and remembers your name, some of the customers need an Uber home 3 drinks ago though.”

“We like this restaurant very much. The atmosphere is great with nice decoration and lots of TVs. I really appreciate the acoustics which makes it nice to hang out with family and friends. The food is very good. Huge variety of slider and cooked very well. The fries are very good but were only warm when they brought our food. Waiter was good and very busy.”

“Good food with great service. The cheese curds are not like any other, large and you can pick different cheese options. The teriyaki chicken bowl was delicious & a large portion. The fish tacos unfortunately were lack luster. I also tried one of the tea options which came in a large glass and was very good.”
