“I’was so excited to celebrate my birthday at Chucks Place Bar & Grill upon our arrival to Drummond Island! It was their all you can eat Fish fry Fridays and I was pleasantly surprised by its quaint charm in a dated way but most of all, the food was delicious! I’ve not had poutine in a long while and this was the closest to what they served in Canada across the way. Everything was delicious and the Pollock was to die for indeed! “I'm back and forth on this place. As a vegetarian when I eat their quesodilla I don't seem to have an issue but I thought I'd be adventurous and order a tofu burrito, stomach pains for hours and tasted like chicken. I won't lie, it was really good, the diarrhea not so much. Pretty sure what happened was they didn't clean their grill before cooking the tofu. You guys have to be careful with that.”

“The quality comes and goes, some days the only options are burgers that make me sick, vegan “food,” awful pizza, or a salad. Breakfast slaps, IF you can manage to make it there in time. I pay about $1500 dollars more than it’s worth though and the fact that we eat off paper plates and plastic utensils is a slap in the face. Very clear that their whole budget is spent on parents night and the holiday dinner, leaving us with scraps the rest of the semester. “I get SO bummed that this place is never open when I visit Marquette! When I lived in the area, this place was always jumping around lunch time. Melted slings delicious grilled cheese sammiches and the desserts are not something you're going to want to pass up either. Just make sure you are with a friend or you'll end up in a sugar coma. “My husband and I just had the pork sandwich and the double brisket burger. Outstanding! Juicy and flavorful and not all sauced up so we could taste and enjoy the flavors from the meats. These came with a healthy side of crispy steak fries, slaw, a bread n butter pickle spear, and fresh made lemonade. Well worth the price! I just realized I didn't take any pictures. It was delicious from the first look to the last bite that we gobbled them all up before photos could be taken. Next time. I highly recommend stopping by this food truck!”

“Excellent Halal burger spot! Everything is made to order, so don’t expect this to be a fast food place. Burgers are well seasoned and perfectly cooked. Fries are great too. “My new favorite fried chicken spot and its 100% Halal! Ordered a Chicken 65 and Seoul sandwich which were very good. The sauces on both were flavorful and house made. The 2 Large white Crispy breast quarters was the real highlight for me. The large portion is HUGE Spice level was hot, I'd recommend going down to medium as it was spicy. Super crunchy and seasoned so well. Chicken was so soft and tender cannot rave about it enough. $35 for everything pictured which is very reasonable in todays climate. You will not be disappointed going here!”

“Fresh pita bread out of the oven was amazing! Garlic sauce was made in-house and very delicious. I got a leg of lamb for $3.99 a lb and a lamb shoulder for $4.99 a lb. You really can't beat prices like that. They provided excellent service and are very nice. They told me to come back soon and tell them how everything was (pita, garlic sauce, and what I was planning to make with the shoulder) but I live pretty far away and don't know when I'll be back. I'm writing them this review instead. Hope you give them a try.”

“I have not been impressed by much since expectations have obviously gone down hill since covid. With that being said, I was so impressed by this place. I did not have high hopes after finding out it was in a gas station but this place is great. I will absolutely be coming back. The guy at the counter was very polite, it was one of the best burgers ( it it HUGE fyi) I have had and the fries were the most fresh crispy fries I have had in years. They even had some tables outside to eat at which I definitely took advantage of so I could eat right away. This is my new burger recommendation.”

We've visited a few times, and everything we tried has always been prepared impeccably and tasted great. Don't miss the chive pancakes, curry puffs, and Larb. If you're adventurous, try the papaya salad Thai style (ours had crab legs mixed in). The Massaman curry was great as well as the Singapore noodles. If you can catch it when in season, definitely get mango sticky rice (the color of the rice is blue from butterfly pea flower tea). Say hi to Susie, the owner, she's so lovely to talk to and what keeps the standards here so high. 10/10”
