“We have gotten Kataki 3 times now and WOW I'm so impressed with their sushi! I hadn't heard of it until my brother visited from out of town and suggested it and now it's one of our favorite places. The quality is amazing and the sushi is fresh and unique. I've never sat in the restaurant so I can't speak to the ambiance - we have only ever gotten take out. However we have ordered by calling and have never had any problems with the order or service when we pick up. We have tried multiple rolls including the Spicy Girl Roll, Sexy Girl roll, and Kataki roll. Everything has been delicious and I can't choose a favorite! Also don't sleep on the stir fry ramen, it's delicious. Get the chicken! I've tried the steak one as well and they're both amazing.”

I got the Grecian omelette—gyro meat with spinach, tomato, and feta cheese with tzatziki sauce on the side—it is the most amazing omelette I have ever had!! i swapped out the side of toast for lefse and it was also delicious. My daughter tried the tres leches French toast and son had the breakfast burger (both limited specials), and they both also loved their food. Our server was nice and knowledgeable and the restaurant clean and convenient. We highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast or brunch!!”

“Rapids Brewing Company is a solid brewery with an equally solid food menu. We visited for their Oktoberfest celebration, which involved the ceremonial tapping of a new keg and included free pours (always appreciated!). The “It Has Layers” pizza featured a nice array of alliums and was definitely tasty. It should be noted that there weren’t any dairy-free options, which was somewhat surprising given that so many other breweries on the wood fire pizza bandwagon have plant-based options. My flight of beers included a Hefeweizen, an Oktoberfest, a wet-hopped IPA, and a vanilla porter. The beers were a standard, decent representation of each variety. All in all, if I find myself in Grand Rapids again, I’ll probably return.”

“We've stayed at Cascade Lodge a few times in the last couple of years, and we love it. Top-most is the staff. Everyone--from the front desk, to the restaurant, to maintenance, to house cleaning--every single employee (and the owner) we've met has been genuinely kind, professional, helpful, and friendly. In addition, ultimately this is a place to sleep, and the beds and linens are superb. The restaurant is one of the best on the North Shore including an inventive menu and clever cocktails and well-poured Guinness in the bar.
