“Such a cute little cafe! Came here when heading up North and I am so glad I did! The cafe is super adorable. At the entrance they have books you can read while dining in. They also have a wide variety of pies! I ordered the spinach omelet with yogurt and grapefruit juice. The food came out relatively quick; everything was super hot and delicious. The waitress was very accommodating and helpful when ordering and checked in on us to ensure we were doing okay. The price for everything was VERY inexpensive. Breakfast for two was under $40!”

“Decided to take my mother out on a date here to cheer her up and we couldn’t have had a better experience! It’s not always easy to find restaurants that are so accommodating as this one. I have two kids, a toddler and an infant and they helped make the experience so seamless. The staff were all incredibly welcoming and lighthearted, making us feel right at home from the second we walked in the door even though we were running late for our reservation. Our server was also incredibly attentive to our specific needs, making sure we were doing well often and made sure not to bring my toddler’s sundae before he was far enough into his meal even though it was getting late for the restaurant. They even helped us take some pictures to remember the day and had such wonderful attitudes towards my kids. The food was delicious as always! I ordered the Alfredo with chicken and it was perfectly portioned and creamy. Thinking about the chicken still makes my mouth water! It was perfectly seasoned and moist. The sweet raspberry tea was also surprisingly yummy and didn’t taste watered down at all. My son had the grilled cheese which he had fun tearing into tiny pieces and counting meticulously. The sundae he got even came with whipped cream and sprinkles which he was very excited about! Overall, Wandering Pines has never failed to create a welcoming environment and a great dining experience. Will definitely come back again!”

“Great place to stop on the North Shore. We ordered the Reuben sandwich which was absolutely delicious and perfect. We also ordered the chips and salsa which was supposed to come with sour cream… maybe they were out. My trail salad also missing some ingredients listed on the menu and the lettuce itself a little brown but most of it delicious. This is a deli style eatery where you order your food at the counter and then it comes out to you. No real opportunity for corrections, but all in all I would recommend stopping here.”

“I'll start off saying the service was fine. Everything else from there was mediocre at best. The best thing was the barbecue chicken mac and cheese which was on the kids menu. Went there with the family and I ordered the risotto which was extremely bland boring and a scallops lacked any sear, it was most likely frozen and microwaved or something because they were rubbery. The chicken sandwich was bland and boring as well even though the description was quite tantalizing. The buttered rum was fairly decent, the old fashioned and the blueberry gimlet came with what I would assume was ice from an ice maker and using tap water. Which is never going to produce the best drink. Overall a $37 risotto that had almost no flavor and frozen scallops I was not impressed whatsoever. It is Lutsen So I suppose I didn't expect culinary excellence but if you're going to put the stuff on the menu learn how to make it.”

“I visited Izatys Resort twice, both times for a weekend getaway with friends, and each visit left me with fond memories of this beautiful lakeside retreat. Restaurant was not very busy but I could not get my water filled and server did not check up to see how our food was however food runners and other staff were great about refilling our chips/salsa. Their drink special was mojitos but it was $13 a drink less the $2 off special, in my opinion over priced for a drink, so water it was for me. Ambiance was typical Mexican restaurant feeling.”

“Sarah the store manager is very friendly and has awesome customer service! The service was super fast and her staff is always on top of things! I normally get a hot drink, but with the morning already being 69 degrees I thought I should have a cooler. I asked if I could have a decaf caramel cooler and she asked if she could use decaf cold press because she didn't have whatever else it would need to be decaf, I didn't care, I just need decaf because caffeine causes migraines for me. She made sure to read my order back to me and again while giving me the drink. Made my day with her smiling face and happy attitude 😊”

The margarita was an awful mix flavor, I got watermelon. we ordered chips and salsa and the chips were great but all of the sauces are a miss. The avocado salsa is the only one worth eating. the torta my daughter got was big and delicious and she really liked the french fries. She also got a sope but it was soggy and she only ate half. She said she would not get it again. I got the chimichanga with steak. there was mostly black beans inside the chimmi which made it really mucky and overpowered the steak. The tortilla was folded so that the chimmi was only about 1/4 full. It was just a pile of tortilla! I am so glad I asked for the chimichanga sauce on the side because it was disgusting. the beans were okay. the rice was ok. We were charged additionally for more salsa when we asked for something different to go with the chips and salsa we paid for, because the sauce was awful and the sauce they brought us to replace it with was awful. also, the table we were set at had an uneven leg that they had rolled napkins under and it continued to rock back and forth. anytime you touched the table or picked something up. we love authentic Mexican and we're excited to find a new place close by, we are hopeful they improve and that they learn to make salsas correctly.”

“Stopped in after walking Como Lake one morning -- I'm an out-of-towner & it was only a 4-minute drive. I got a build-your-own breakfast sandwich, and it was SO GOOD! They were very sweet to me as I stumbled through my order, too. I chose a pumpernickel bagel with egg, sausage, bacon, pepper jack, bacon & chive cream cheese, tomato, red onion, sprouts (amazed to see this fave on the menu), and honey mustard. Sounds weird, but I promise, it was divine! I also ordered 4 bagels (sundried tomato, pumpernickel, plain, & multi-grain) and 8 small sides of various cream cheeses to share with my mom (honey walnut, veggie, cinnamon sugar, apricot almond, garlic herb, jalapeño, bacon chive, & smoked salmon). I haven't tried them yet, but based on this sammy, I'm stoked!”
